Blogging LA posted an item about the worst Trader Joe's parking lots. That is a an impossible ranking. The solution has no limit. They are all terrible, with the exception of Culver City and maybe the new one near my office at Vine and Selma.
Similarly, I would not fault anyone who commits manslaughter at a Whole Foods parking lot. Fairfax and 3rd, specifically.
Sidenote: terrific commenting in the Blogging LA item. Unions, domestic partnerships, transportation issues are all covered.

Google Maps now offering bike routes

It's still in beta but fun to try out.
The suggested routes for West Hollywood to Venice are not bad.

One dissenting citizen went after a camera with a pick ax.
The upside to Arizona's roadside cameras (that issue tickets to people driving more than 11 mph over the speed limit) is that the fine is only $181.50 (versus $500 here).
The downside is that everyone hates them, they are not the revenue-generators the state had hoped for, and they may not even increase safety.

LA Triathlon
Information that would have been useful to me YESTERDAY.
It took an hour to travel less than 3 miles because traffic was terrible, and it was nearly impossible to cross Venice Blvd.
