I have paranoia about premature signs of aging. I often wonder if my hands will be saggy and weird before the rest of me, because I often forget to put sunscreen there, and my hands are always exposed. I have long been suspicious of those UV lamps at nail salons, and now I know I am not far off!

But hey at least I don't have a hobby with a high rate of MRSA.

What's With the Cattitude?

OPI's new Shrek collection has some ugly colors with great names. At the head of the class is a light blue called What's With the Cattitude! A real pussycat.

Contrary to what is pictured on the Lucky site, the colors sold by J. Crew seem to be a bright red and a bright pink. I would wear them.

Over the Taupe

My nails have a sheer nude on them 90% of the time. Last weekend, I went wild and got Over the Taupe, a new OPI color. I have never before received so many compliments. Thank you, weird mushroomy brown purple concoction.

Sugar Daddy

I received a mediocre $20 mani-pedi on Main St. in Santa Monica yesterday. As someone who is quite particular about polish color, I should track which colors I like and which I do not (the names are too ridiculous to keep straight; a written record will be helpful).

Let it be known that Essie Sugar Daddy (top) is too pink for my taste, but the sheerness level is acceptable. Mademoiselle (middle) is almost too sheer but a safe choice nonetheless, and Nude Beach (bottom) is great but sometimes I am embarassed about having sparkle on my nails.

As far as OPI goes, Passion is the best sheer for nails ever (but harder to find than the Essie sheers), and Bubble Bath is a nice opaque.

And while I'm on the subject, I refuse to try the matte trend that everyone is talking about for fall.
